Firestick Remote Control Guides:


Here is the layout of the firestick remote and the button functions.

  • Back Button (E) --> Opens the menu for home/guide/shows/movies/recently watched
  • Holding Select button (D) down for 3 seconds ----> Start Voice Search (eg. "Channel 9" "Denver Broncos")
  • Press and release Select button (D)--->pulls up recording settings/current playback
  • Navigation Wheel (C) --> Browse channels and Menus 
  • Play/Pause (I) & Fast Forward/Rewind (H/J) buttons will work within the app




Starting Connexion TV (Firestick):
Power on the firestick with the remote. It should load a screen that looks similar to the below. The top half will be a scrolling advertisement for Amazon shows and movies.



Halfway down after the icon labelled "My Stuff" there is a row of recently used apps. Navigate to the Fort Collins Connexion app and hit the selection button. The app looks like the below image.


This will launch the tv service and will take you to the last channel you were watching.

Navigating the Connexion App:


When you hit the back button you have several options. Press to the right so that "Guide" is highlighted and hit select. This will pull up the traditional tv guide and you can use the up and down to scroll through the channels.

This menu that pulls up when you hit the "back" button on the remote. It looks like the image below.



Connexion TV: Guide Menu

The Guide Menu will show you a list of all the content playing across your subscribed channels. You can scroll through the guide by using the up/down/left/right arrows on your remote. Highlighting a show and then hitting select will give you the option to watch now or set it to record.



While watching a show press the "select" button on the remote to see the following menu



  • Restart a show from the begging
  • Record the show to view later
  • Jump to the live broadcast if watching delayed or partially recorded
  • Play/Pause
  • Get Show/Episode information 
  • Add subtitles/Closed Captions
