1. On your keyboard, press Windows + R keys at a time - this will open the Run dialog box.

    2. Type cmd in the Run box and press Enter to open Command Prompt.

    3. In the Command Prompt window, type the following command to show the wireless LAN Driver properties on your computer:

netsh wlan show drivers

    4. From the result that opens up in the Command Prompt window, look for Radio types supported.

  • If the Radio types supported line shows 802.11g and 802.11n network modes, the computer only has 2.4 GHz network capability.
  • If the Radio types supported line shows 802.11n,  802.11g, and 802.11b network modes, the computer only has 2.4 GHz network capability.
  • If the Radio types supported line shows 802.11a, 802.11g, and 802.11n network modes, the computer has 2.4 GHz and 5GHz network capability - which means the computer supports a 5GHz network.
